untitled
by bemused inapologies if this has been raised already (i don't check in to the board all that often) but can anyone make head or tail of this from the latest watchtower (study edition):.
a former atheist confessed: the creation convinces me that god wants mankind to enjoy life and therefore he will not allow suffering to go on forever.
also, as the world descends further into ungodliness, jehovahs people are progressing in faith, zeal, and love.

Genesis and the Babylonian kings list.
by Crazyguy inthe babylonians believed that the gods were immortal then they had offspring that were demigods and then they had humans so the first two of the list are different than the genesis writer wrote in chapter 5. this is how the names are translated.. babylonian kings list, genesis chapter 5.
1. aruru=a god 1. adam=man.
2. adapa= demigod 2. seth=gift of god.

Just put your foot down and say I am not going.
Then you can enjoy the weekend instead of wasting it at the cult wastefest.

UK Charity Commission Expand their Investigation
by Slidin Fast inthe paedophile/rape case in wales has attracted the interest of the the charity police.
it seems the clouds are gathering and the charitable status of the wt in the uk is in question.
not great for the dubs but superb for champions of truth and righteousness.. ironic isn't it.

Pleading with my Captors
by not bitter ini have always had bonkers dreams and i remember a lot of them, even some from my childhood.
i have the common dreams of flying and being chased all the time.
and i used to dream about demons but not for a very long time.. but heres the thing, i often dream that i've been captured and about to be tortured or murdered and the rest of my dream is about me negotiating my freedom and promising all sorts of things if they will only let me go free.

It seems logical that your early fears play out in these dreams, but that's just a guess. You are bound to be somewhat disturbed by your in dream actions if they are not what you would wish in reality.
I used to have a regularly repeated disturbing dream (nightmare?) for years that involved me being in a sand pit at night with large coloured balls (think hard shiney and heavy snooker balls but 3 meters in diameter) rolling one after another along the wires on telephone poles and dropping off the end onto the ground. That was about the sum of it, but it was disturbing enough to wake me up each time I had it.
Other disturbing dreams involve size as well, I used to have regular waking dreams where I was awake and aware but obviously not 100%, I'd grip my wirst under the covers and it would feel like a finger and really freak me out, then I'd grip my finger to check and it would be huge.
Others involved car chases and suddenly I cant reach the pedals or see out the windscreen because i have shrunk.
The joys of the mind eh?

Question for Atheists.. Did you gain a Greater Sense of Morality and Happiness?
by objectivetruth ini've heard some view points that state, atheists are generally more moral & caring for fellow humans, than are theists.. i'd like to hear some personal stories of life changes and quality of life after you became atheist.
i have a simple theory that may explain this.. i'll explain my theory if you'd like, after a few responses, as i really am interested in the personal changes that you experienced.. thank you very much, and i look forward to your stories..

It was also widely known long before Jebus or his cultists were supposed to have plagiarized it....

Do "wicked spirit forces" come into play in your theory at any point I wonder?
Your question is loaded to start with anyway...

The Ravings of Trolls Distracts FOCUS From Real Watchtower Scandals
by cofty inmy thread was inspired by gentledawn's insightful comment about the effect the events in wales had on her jw husband.... hope any lurkers out there can filter out the signal (storys and experiences like this) to noise (the current trolls running amok on the forums) ratios.
this the problem with those who focus on outrageous fantasies about the watchtower.
it distracts from the real issues that need to be highlighted.. what happened in wales was for real.

I must admit i do hate it when pompous assholes come on here and spout their particular brand of nuttiness acting as if we'd be impressed by their use of many words.
Most just mark themselves out as mentally unstable to one degree or another and make it easier to spot the next one to turn up.
